Bank jobs in India are perceived to be an attractive opportunity for a lot of people. To qualify for a bank job one has to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CWE) held by the Institute of Banking Personnel (IBPS).

The Role of IBPS in the Public Sector Banking 

The government of India has bestowed on the IBPS the authority to select any individual for any sort of banking post in any of the 27 public sector banks. After clearing the examination, on the day of joining there are some documents which a new employee needs to produce.

Document List when Applying for Public Sector Banks through IBPS 

It is important to know even if one fares well in the entrance test the banks can reject the candidate if he or she does not have the necessary documents. Here are the documents which one needs for the post of a probationary officer, clerk and specialist officer—

• Some of the documents needed are ID proof such as PAN card/ Aadhar card/ Driver’s License and Voter`s ID/ Passport, proof of date of birth etc. In addition to this marksheets of standard X and XII exams and college examinations are required.

• In some cases a computer literacy certificate is a requirement. This is a must in clerical positions. A prospective candidate should have taken computer science as a subject in high school or they ought to have studied a computer-related course in any institute. This should be pointed out in the school-leaving marksheet.

• Anybody belonging to the OBC or SC or ST category is required to hand in proof that they belong to the respective category.  Secondly the certificate should have been seen issuance within one year from when the IBPS examination notification came out.

• Physical Disability candidates have to produce a certificate issued by the district medical board.

• People who were in service should get a discharge letter and their pension payment. Along with this there has to be some proof of the last held rank.

• There has to be a relieving letter from any of the past companies where one has worked before.
